What are your top tips to a couple for choosing a dog chaperone for their wedding?

We have lots of tips as each dog and wedding are completely different! Our top tip is to have a professional dog chaperone to care for your dog. This supports the dog's best interests throughout the day, as professional dog chaperones are trained to care for dogs at weddings. We have written blogs to support couples in deciding if a professional dog chaperone is what they need. Our top tips for anxious pups are:

• Seek the advice of a dog trainer for the best way to support the dog in a brand-new environment is 
• Visit the venue to allow the dog time to explore prior to the wedding day
• Have a dedicated quiet space for the dog to settle and feel secure and comfortable 
• Use the dogs favourite treats to direct unwanted behaviours, sniffing and working for treats gets them concentrating on other things

What are the benefits of having a dog chaperone attending your wedding day?

When using friends or family to care for your dog on your wedding day, the dog doesn't always get the attention and care they may need, as the guests don't want to miss any part of the couple's big day. Due to this, the dog's cues to feeling overwhelmed and stressed are often missed, which can cause long term anxiety. Weddings can be extremely overwhelming and tiring, and dogs need to be able to rest away from the wedding in a comfortable area free from noise, children and other distractions.

What are some special ways you can include your dog in your wedding day?

It's so lovely if dogs can be captured in wedding photos as these images are kept forever. We love it when couples embrace having their dogs at the wedding, and they featured in the cake or invites. One of our client's has even had a dog treat table for guests to take home for their dogs! We often find couples need time out from the spotlight, and they come to have a cuddle with their dog.

Tell us about your favourite client wedding.

I don't think I can answer this! All our dogs and weddings are so special to us and we love them all. We are so pleased when every couple and and their pup joins our Wedding Day Dog Nanny family!

How many client weddings have you been involved with?

We have been around since 2019 so we have lots of couples and pups in our Wedding Day Dog Nanny family! We are so proud of our business and the memories we have helped to create! Just to note we have now trademarked and I am waiting for my new logo !
